FARM by Kate Lynch
3 June to 3 December
Somerset’s food and farming heritage is celebrated in our first exhibition by local artist Kate Lynch. Working in oils, pastels and willow charcoal, Kate creates atmospheric drawings and paintings of rural life.
'FARM’, includes more than 40 paintings and drawings made on 19 farms, mostly in central Somerset. The pictures are the result of two years of visits to historic Somerset farms where Kate shadowed herdsmen, sheep and pig farmers, apple growers, cheese and cider makers, and growers of willow and wheat.
Kate has also recorded their family stories and the colourful history of the farms in a hardback book that is being published to accompany the exhibition.
Admission included in museum entry.
